Hi, I'm Wendy

I am the proud owner of HHQC. My journey started 15 years ago on my first shop hop with my mom and aunts. I purchased my first kit and the rest is history. I was fortunate to have access to my mom long arm machine, allowing me to experience the entire quilt making process from start to finish.

Shorty after, I purchased my first Janome sewing machine, a 3160. My collection and skills grew from there; I upgraded to the Memory Craft 8900, added the 500E for embroidery and the heavy-duty HD9 for bag making. All my long arm quilting is done on a Janome Quilt Maker Pro 20 with Pro-Stitcher!

Long Arm and Finishing Services

I have been quilting, piecing and long arming, for 15+ years. I learned on my mom’s long arm doing free motion squiggles, next I learned how to do pantographs and now I do all my long arming on a Janome Quilt Maker Pro 20 with Pro-Stitcher. I enjoy the entire process of creating a quilt from pattern, color selection, construction, choosing the perfect pantograph, and binding to finish the keepsake.

Pricing

Most edge to edge quilting designs cost between $.015 - $.03 / sq inch depending on the density of quilting. I have a variety of designs to choose from. If you don’t find one you like, I will look for some options and contact you. I will send pictures of the ones I think will work with your top and you can make your choice.

Custom quilting starts at $.04 / sq inch. I do not do show/thread art quilting at this time. If you would like to have custom quilting done please call before dropping off. I would like to sit down with you and see what you are looking to have done.

Batting

I carry Unbleached Hobbs 80/20 batting in 120” and 96”, Black Hobbs 80/20 in 108”, and Warm & Natural in 45”. If you have something you would like me to use, I’ll take a look at it.

Finishing Service

Includes trimming your quilt, making the binding and attaching, either to the front and you can hand stitch to the back OR attaching to the back and folding to the front and machine stitching to the front.

Sew to the front and YOU stitch to the back $ .20/ linear inch

Sew to the back and fold to front $ .30/ linear inch

Thread

I use Glide thread for all my long arm quilting. There is a variety of colors to choose from. Thread cost $3.00/bobbin.

Turn Around Time

My goal is to finish your quilt as promptly as possible. Call the shop to get the current turn around time. If you need your quilt by a specific date, please be sure to let us know, when you drop off, so we can get it back to you on time.

Size Requirements of your Quilt:

Please remember to leave your backing fabric 4″ larger on all sides. This means your backing will be 8″-10″ wider and longer than your quilt top.
